“All Things Fantasy” (7/30)

July 31, 2012

This is the Monday July 30th, 2012 edition of “All Things Fantasy”. Jeff Erickson, the senior editor of Rotowire.com and host of “rotowire fantasy sports today on Sirus/Xm satellite radio (XM 87/Sirius 210) joined me on the show to talk fantasy baseball and some fantasy football. Not a lot of notes from the show so be sure to listen to it.

“All Things Fantasy”

A couple of Pickups I talked about:

Jonathon Lucroy C, Milw(21%)- is back from injury and while he hasn’t he done a lot since he has been back  as he has only started in 3 games. remember that at for the first 2 months of the season this was one of the best catchers in all of baseball.

Carlos Gomez OF, Milw(29%)-

Mike Minor SP, ATL (33.4 has finally showed the promise so many thought he would at the beginning of the season. He has been awesome in his last 5 starts by posting 28 Ks, in 21 innings, with a 2.78 ERA and miniscule 0.93 WHIP with 3 wins during that time. Now is the time to pick this guy up as he could be a crucial piece for a late season championship run.

Jemile Weeks 2B, Oak( 28%)-

Guys Im higher on now than before

Ryan Mathews over Chris Johnson- CJ said he doesn’t think he will catch that many passes.

Pierre Garcon & Austin Collie- Both of these guys could be the #1 for their teams and both have rookie QBs. Which means they will grow and learn to play with these guys for the forseable future.

The Tight End Position is surprisingly deep this year with Pettigrew, Owen Daniels, Jermaine Gresham, Fred Davis, jared Cook, been hearing great things about Kyle Rudolph from Minnesota.

Carson Palmer-

“All Things Fantasy” (7-16-12)

July 17, 2012

This is Monday July 16th, 2012 edition of “All Things Fantasy” . Jeff Erickson, the senior editor of rotowire.com comes on the show to talk all things fantasy baseball. I also talk some fantasy football on which guys I think are going to out perform their draft stock. My notes from the show are below.

Players to add ( percent own is by espn)

Adam Lind 1B, Tor (33.4%)- has been on fire recently. This is a guy that is streaky and can MASH when he gets going.  In the last 2 weeks he has 2 HRs, 5 Runs, 10 RBIs and a .390 OBP.

Jair Jurrjens SP, ATL (25.5%)- has been sensational since coming being recalled from the minor leagues. In first starts since then he has 3 wins, a 2.13 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, only 10 Ks

Chris Carter 1B, OAK- (.6%)  is 9 for 26 since being called up to the big leagues with 5 of those hits going for Homeruns, hes hitting .346 with 10 runs, 9 RBIs, and a .452 OBP

Chase Headley (66%)-

Jeff Karstens SP, PIT (7.2%)

Miguel Gonzaez SP, Bal (1%)- recently became a starter and has delivered. He has 21 Ks in 24 innings, with a Win amd 2.59 ERA eith 1.27 WHIP

Alexi Ogando SP, RP TEX(4.8%)- has pitched 35 Innings, recording 35 Ks, 1 W, 1 S, 2.08 ERA, 0.81 WHIP

NFL

guys that are going to outperform their draft stock going by their rank according to ESPNS list of the top 300 players

Brandon Marshall (35th overall, 12th WR)- Bmarsh will finish as a top 10 Wide Reciever and possibly scratch the surface as top 5. why? well in the 2 years Cutler and B-marsh played together, B-marsh averaged 103 receptions, 1,295 yards, and 6.5 TDS

Torrey Smith WR, BAL (82nd overall, 31st WR)- was very inconsistent last year but feel like this guy will have a great season and have some monstrous games

Percy Harvin WR, MIn- (55th overall. 20th WR)Finished 8th among WR in total points last year, he had more than guys like Mike Wallace, A.J. Green, Julio Jones, and Greg Jennings. Also, he carried the ball some. Hes so VERSATILE and I like him a lot this year

Matt Ryan- (73rd overall, 11th QB)- finished as the 8th best QB last year in ponts scored and only 6 behind Romo and 12 behind Eli Manning. Think he could sneak up as the 5th or 6th best QB this year.

Dez Bryant WR, Dal( 41st overall, 15th WR)-

Donald Brown ( 95th overall,  39th RB)-

Reggie Wayne ( 103 overall,39th WR)

Michael Floyd ( 131st overall, 48th WR)

Ryan Fitzpatrick (137 Overall, QB 23)

C.J. Spiller (81stoverall, 34st RB)-

“All Things Fantasy” (7-9-12)

July 10, 2012

This is Monday July 9th, 2012 edition of “All Things Fantasy” where I talk about some players you should pickup and try to trade for in Fantasy Baseball. Also, I talk some late draft picks you should consider for Fantasy Football. My notes from the show are attached below.

Adds:

Sergio Romo RP, SF (23.5%)- has pitched amazing this season. allowing only 2 ER in 25 IP. he has 30Ks, 2 W;s and 5 Saves. HUGE handcuff for Santiago Casilla

Justin Ruggiano OF- MIA(40%)- has been on fire since becoming the starter and he should see plenty of time with Gioncarlo Stanton out. In his last 13 games he has 4 HRs, 11 RBIs, 3 SB and a decent .429 BA. While he isn’t going to keep those number up. He will see plenty of PT so feel confident starting him the until he starts slumping or Stanton comes back

Norichika Aoki OF, MIL (35%)- This guy has been very consistent all season. He is one of those guys that’s does nothing great but a lot of things well. He has 11 Sbs & 5 HR while batting .301 on the season with a .369 OBP. He was a batting champ in Japan so I don’t see him regressing at all. If your in a deep league and someone to help in OBP, Runs, and SBs this look no further than Aoki .

Pedro Ciriaco SS, BOS (3.5%)- No that’s not a drink, that’s the new starting SS for the Red Sox. he has only played 3 games for them but is 7/13 (.538 BA) with 4 runs, 4 rbis, & 2 SBs.

Jason Vargas SP, SEA (25%)- Hes back on the pickup list and he should feel honored to be on this list. He has had 3 starts since giving up 10 ERs and has been magnificent in all of them as he has accumulated  3 QS, only 1 Win, 22Ks in 23.2 Innings and his ERA is 1.52 and has a 0.85 WHIP. Granted 2  of those were against OAK but it still counts.

Jonathon Lucroy C, MIL (12%)-
