“All Things Fantasy” (9-24-12)

September 25, 2012

This is the Monday September 24, 2012 edition of “All Things Fantasy” where I talk Fantasy Football. I talk about players you should pickup, Buy lows/ Sell high and more. Here are my notes from the show

“All Things Fantasy”

Pickups

Bilal Powell- Blind Resume Time

Player A- had 10 carries for 45 yards and 2 catches for 24 yards

Player B- had 19 Carries for 40 yards and 2 catches for 9 yards

Player A is Bilal Powell

Player B is Shonn Greene- Jets Go against the 49ers then Houston Texans. Which means Green will Struggle the next 2 weeks

Lamar Miller/ Daniel Thomas- Reggie Bush is looking like he wont play next week so both of these guys would get a huge booosssttt if that’s the case. Daniel Thomas would be the starter and Lamar Miller would be the backup.  Thomas had 19 carries for 69 YDS and a TD while Miller had 9 carries for 48 Yards

Andrew Luck has looked pretty good in the past couple games

T.Y. Hilton- 4 catches, 113 yards and 1 TD.. with Austin Collie out for the season, T.Y. could end up being a solid fantasy contributor. He is def a stash and see. And Donnie Avery is becoming a must add

Lance Moore- is becoming the #1 WR for the Saints, in week one he had 6 rec, for 120 Yds, and 1 TD. He had disappointing week 2, but came back strong yesterday with 4 catches for 70 yards and 1 TD and was inches away from making it 2 TDs.  This is one of those players I am trying to acquire in a bunch of leagues.

Tashard Choice- had a great game coming in for C.J. Spiller when he got hurt, but I don’t see him that much value this week. I would pickup him and hope Fred Jax doesn’t play

Shaun Draughn- Has really been in play when chiefs got blown out but he could be a factor since Peyton Hillis got hurt so Draughn could be only one to relieve JC when he needs a rest.

Nate Burleson- nothing special about him but he saw 12 targets yesterday same as Calvin and Pettigrew.

Leonard Hankerson- Shanahan has announced the he has earned the right be a starter

Jerome Simpson

TE Position

Here is the top 5 TEs including week 3 in a .5 PPR league

1.      Tony Gonzalez -21 Rec, 214 Yds, 3 TDs- 49.9 pts

2.      Vernon Davis- 13 Rec, 169 Yds 4 TDs- 47.40

3.      Heath Miller – 15 Rec, 129 Yds, 4 TDs- 44.40

4.      Martellus Bennett 15 Rec, 185 Yds, 3 TDs- 44.00

5.      Jimmy Graham 17 Rec, 172 Yds, 3 TDs- 43.70

Kyle Rudolph- is quickly becoming one of the best FANTASY TEs. He has 3 TDS in his last 2 games. Now he hasn’t gotten a lot of yardage but when Ponder gets to the Redzone he is looking for Rudolph.

Buy Low

Lesean McCoy-Should be solid the rest of the season, his first 2 weeks were solid as he had 110 Rushing Yards in week 1 and 81 rushing yards in week 2 week with 81 Yds and 1 TD on 25 Carries against agood BAL team. Arizona has a solid Def and Mccoy only managed 70 yards on 13 carries.

Dez Bryant-has on 14 catches and 164 yards in 3 games.

Jordy Nelson-

Aaron Rodgers-

Cam Newton-

Brandon Lloyd-hasn’t had a huge game yet as he only a had 6 points in week 1 & 2 in standard leagues, but had 108 yards on 9 catches in week 3. He doesn’t have a TD yet so that’s why his numbers are so low but I think he will still be an elite receiver this year

Sell High

Mike Vick- has looked dreadful and there is even talk about him not starting anymore. He lost 2 Fumbles yesterday, had 3 TO the week before and had 4 INTS in week 1. HE really isn’t running the ball that much anymore only 92 yards ( yes that’s 2nd most among QBS) but we know also gets hurt and I don’t see Vick being a big Fantasy contributor by week 8.

Alfred Morris- has been solid so far this year ( 7th in the NFL in rushing yardsbut I don’t think he will continue this production that much this season. If ou need Morris now then keep him but if your not playing him I would package him in a trade and see what you can get for him. Remember they still have Evan Royster and Roy Helu ( who had a great 2nd half of last season)

Andre BrownI actually think Brown could have fantasy relevance the rest of the season even with Ahmad Bradshaw playing. Brown had A ridiculous game last week 130 total yards with 2 tds and I think he will split carries with Bradshaw aka Brandon Jacobs. Now imagine if Bradshaw gets hurt and is out for more than 1 week

Stevan Ridley-

Matt Schaub-

Andy Dalton-

Guys who had bad weeks but will bounce back

Frank Gore- will  bounce back

C.J. Spiller- Very Merky situation

Vincent Jackson- will fo sho bounce back

D. Thomas (WR, Den)- he will be fine, was #2 WR before this week.

Steven Jackson- Don’t think he be that good the rest of the season

Defense for this week- Seattle @ STL,

“All Things Fantasy” (9-19-12)

September 21, 2012

This is the Wednesday September 19th, 2012 edition of “All Things Fantasy” . Isaac Stock joined me in studio to talk about trades. Also, I talk about how you should use your waiver wire priority, players to trade for/away, pickups to make, some underrated players for this upcoming week, and more. Here are some notes from the show. Also, I give some solid plays for weekly fantasy lineups (IE. Dailyjoust.com or Fanduel.com)

“All Things Fantasy”

Start/Sit

Adrian Peterson vs the 49ers- SIT

Darren Mcfadden vs the Steelers- Sit, only if you have a solid option to replace him

Michael Bush vs the Rams- START

Jamaal Charles/ Peyton Hillis vs NO- Both should be starts, Charles could easily exceed 100 yards and Hillis will probably get at least 1 TD

Donald Brown vs the Jags. The Jags have been one of the worst rushing defenses in the league. I like Brown a lot this week.

Eric Decker vs the Texans- Sit, Texans have been the best defense against the pass. ( granted, it has been against some brutal pass teams in Dolphins & Jags). want to see him produce a solid game before I would start him. Don’t sell low on him Decker.

What to do??

Chris Johnson- Sell- even if he has good week, I don’t trust him going forward. He plays Houston, Minny, and Pitt after this week. All 3 are solid run defenses.

Jamaal Charles- He should be a great start this week against the Saints who rank close to last in the NFL in run defense. However, if Charles struggles this week then I would start to be very concerned.

Cam Newton- Had him before last nights game, and seems like the league has adjusted to him, but Cam hasn’t made the adjustments to the league. This is starting to look like a down season for Cam, but he should still get some points in rushing yards which will still make a solid Fantasy QB.

Aaron Rodgers- He is going to struggle again this week against a solid Defense in the Seattle Seahawks ( never thought I would say solid defense and Seahawks in the same sentence). He won’t have Greg Jennings either. Don’t sell him and try to buy him after this week.

Larry Fitzgerald- He should not be starting until we see him produce. If you can trade him and still get value for him then go ahead and do it. Don’t sell him for nothing though.

My Starts of the Week

QB- Ryan Fitzpatrick vs the Browns- Andy Dalton threw for 3 TDs and over 300 yards last week against them. Even though Fitzpatrick hasn’t thrown for over 200 yards yet. He has thrown 5 TDS in his first 2 games which is actually tied with Matt Ryan for the most so far this season.

Andre Brown RB, NYG-  Look like Ahmad Bradshaw is out which means Brown will become the starter on Thursday for the Giants. He had 13 rushes for 71 yards and a TD last week taking over for Bradshaw. That was with ELI throwing the ball in the 2nd half. Think Brown could have a big week, but this is also a chance for David Wilson to play to.

Donald Brown- Brown has 182 yards on 28 carries (6.5 yards per carry) in two home games versus the Jaguars.  The Jags have actually been really good agains the pass this season so I think this will be a close game and both teams will run the ball a lot. BTW Brown has as many points as DMC and more than guys like Steven Jackson and Michael Turner.

WR Brandon Lafel- LaFell was targeted on 42 percent of Cam Newton’s pass attempts in Week 2, earning twice as many targets (eight) as Steve Smith (four). Has Double Digit fantasy points in his first 2 games. The Giants CBs are terrible. Look for Lafell to have a huge game. (that was a bad call)

WR- Lance Moore- had a great week 1 and struggled week 2, Now the Saints face the Chiefs who have been blown out in 2 str8 games. Moore could be the number WR for the Saints if Colston can’t play. Look for Moore to repeat his week 1 Numbers.

TE- Owen Daniels- Has been consistent so far and the Texans face a solid Broncos Defense. Look for Daniels to get a lot of catches. ( Tony G had 7 catches for 70 yards and a TD.

“All Things Fantasy” (9-12-12)

September 13, 2012

This is the Wednesday, September 12, 2012 edition of  “All Things Fantasy”. Michael Pichan (@fantasynomad) the host of the Fantasy Nomad Show & 2 Guys & a Friggin Football Show for RotoInfo.com joins me for the entire hour to talk all things fantasy football. We go over players you trade for/ away, starts and sits, and a lot of other solid fantasy Info. Here is a short recap of what we talked about, but listen to show to get the full details. We talked about a lot of fantasy players.

“All Things Fantasy”

Start/ Sit

Austin Collie or Donald Brown- Brown

Cobb or Lance Moore- Coin Flip

Fitzpatrick or Luck- i think Fitz, but could be a toss up

1 out of antiono brown, bowe or T. Smith- Brown

Owen Daniels or Fred Davis- Daniels

Facts

Isiah Pead should be dropped in most leagues. Daryl Richardson looks like the handcuff there

Mikel Leshoure should be owned in all leagues.

“All Things Fantasy” (9-10-12)

September 11, 2012

This is the Monday September 10th, 2012 edition of  “All Things Fantasy”. Jeff Erickson, the Senior Editor of Rotowire.com and Host of Rotowire Fantasy Sports Today on Sirius/XM satellite radio, joined me to talk fantasy football and fantasy baseball. Also, I give some player pickups and some players you should or shouldn’t panic over. Here are my notes from the show.

“All Things Fantasy”

Larry Fitzgerald Panic-Panic-4 rec. 63 yards- Kolb is a terrible QB and it will be hard for Fitz to put big numbers consistently

Wes Welker- PANIC!!!!- Julian Edelman subbed in the game for him often, had only 3 catches for 14 yards.

Jordy Nelson/ Greg Jennings- Don’t Panic- combined for almost 100 yards. They played a tough Defense, Both will end up with solid numbers.

Michael Vick- PANIC 317 Passing yards, 2 TDs, 4 INTs, 32 Rushing Yards.

Michael Turner- Panic – 11 carries for 32 Rushing Yards. I would be trying to trade immediately if I owned him. The Falcons are becoming a Pass First offense and Turner is going to struggle the whole season. Will be very frustrating to own

Willis Mcgahee, Don’t Panic- 16 carries for 64 yards- 1 fum lost. Still Solid, just faced a tough defense

Jason Witten, Don’t Panic- 1 catch 10 yards. Just coming back from injury

Eli Manning- Don’t Panic- 213 Yards, 1 TD. He will be his solid self, just a bad game.

Jamaal Charles- 87 yards- Faced a tough run defense. Will still be a solid fantasy contributor throughout the season.

Pickups-

Stephen Hill Jets, WR- 5 catches for 89 yards and 2 TDs. Looks like he will be the Jets big time play maker. Should be owned in most leagues but want to see him produce again before I would put him in my starting lineup.

Donald Jones, WR,BUF- He had a solid game with 5 catches for41 yards and 1 TD

Coby Fleener TE, Colts (49%)- 6 catches 82 yards. Went to college at Standford and played with Luck so he already has a repertoire with him. Could be a solid TE throughout the season

Knowshon Moreno RB, DEN- 5 carries, 13 yards, 1 TD. Insurance for Willis McGahee or pick him up if your looking for a player that could be a solid contributor later in the season.

Dexter McCluster RB, WR (13%)- 6 catches 82 yards. I like Dexter a lot especially for PPR leagues. His production will mirror what he did he in his first game, but will randomly score a TD here and there.

Cecil Shorts Jags, WR  – (0%) had a great week 4 catches for 74 yards and 1 TD, if he has another solid game then he will be a great pickup next week.

Aldrick Robinson- Could produce if Garcon can’t go

“All Things Fantasy” (9-5-12)

September 6, 2012

This is the Wednesday September 5th, 2012 edition of  “All Things Fantasy”. I give some start/sit advice, give a run down of each game for week 1 and give what to watch for fantasy in each of those games, and answer some questions that were sent to me. Below are my notes from the show.

“All Things Fantasy”

Matt Forte- This he will have a great year, but he is one of those guys that scoring format determines his worth. In a PPR league he is a lot more valuable than in a standard league. Forte doesn’t score a lot of touchdowns

Michael Burner Turner- Think he will do a lot better than people think. Will be a consistent fantasy contributor. Solid #2 RB

Desean Jackson/ Jeremy Maclin- Jackson could have a really good year, he doesn’t catch a lot of passes, but has had almost 1000 receiving yards in every year of his career. Maclin is a great possession type of receiver and could have a huge year. Both of these guys value matter on Vick’s health and that can be kind of scary.

Danny Amendola/ Sam Bradford- Amendola is going to be a great PPR option this year. Could easily get 80 to 90 receptions and his touchdowns will rise. He has a great chemistry with Bradford. Amendola could find himself in the top 20 of WRs in PPR formats. Bradford could be a great #2 QB. He can run some and this is his third year in the league. Look for him to really come into his own this year and look like solid NFL QB.

Steve Smith (Car)- Just produces solid numbers like 1000 yards receiving and 6 to 7 touchdowns. With Newton around, he has a chance to grab some extra TDs, but the passing yards won’t increase much.

Ahmad Bradshaw- We saw last night he is going to be the GUY for the Giants. As long as he is on the field he is going to produce great numbers.

Ben Roethlisberger- Has weapons all around him to have a great year. Plus, the Steelers run game is going to struggle so look for Big Ben to have big year. This could be his best Fantasy season he has ever had.

Shonne Green- Won’t do anything spectacular, but will end up being a consistent fantasy asset. I could see him getting 12 to 14 fantasy points most weeks.

Larry Fitzgerald- Is by far the 2nd best receiver skill wise in the NFL, but that doesn’t translate to fantasy numbers. I think he will finish as top 5 WR, but the QB situation hinders his value.

My Start/Sit I am debating between this week. Listen to the podcast to get the full reason why I made each decision

Standard scoring-Jake Cutler/ Jake Locker- Locker

PPR- Donald Brown/ Toby Gerhart/ BJGE- need 2 out of the 3, going D. Brown and Gerhart.

.5 PPR-Nate Wash/ T-Rich/ D. Brown- Going Nate Washington

Ryan Fitzpatrick/ Andrew Luck- Going Luck

Ahmad Bradshaw/ DeAngello- Chose Bradshaw

Players I have issues with

Mike Williams TB- Think he will have a great bounce back year. He such a great value considering where he is being drafted.

Reggie Wayne- See Mike Williams. Wayne has the skills and now has a QB that can throw the pigskin

Darren Sproles- At best he performs as well as he did last year. There are so many Running backs in New Orleans and they want Mark Ingram perform. I just don’t see him being a reliable fantasy option this year.

Isaac Redman- Doesn’t have the skills to be a #1 RB in the NFL. Think he will lose a lot of PT when Mendenhall is healthy and Jonathon Dwyer will be their main back when the pass.
